Hey all, just setting up a new veg tent and was looking at the 4000k 132 Boards @ HLG, I'm wanting to mount single drivers and came across this https://tinyurl.com/y34ja2le Is this a good driver for mounting on single boards?

I dont know much about matching drivers, ive just wired boards lol. Thanks!

According to the data sheet the current is too high for that board.

You need to use a smaller one
ELG 75-36 should do the job for you

Ah right on. I saw it here https://forum.grasscity.com/threads/qb1 ... t.1529372/ dude seems to know alot and gives out a lot of advice, I know he mentions alot of how conservative HLG is with their numbers. The ELG is cheaper as well.

Edit: I dont know alot about this stuff but that driver you linked is pretty much perfect for these boards ya? 36v and 2100mA that should max these out right?

Yes mate, should be at max and not go over it unless you play with the dials if they have them on the model you get. If you get one of the drivers without an earth be sure to earth it. Stupid how mean well are selling these without an earth to save 2 cents

Most likely it won't have an earth, we get a different type in Australia that has an earth.

Just a pic i pulled up from Ebay but I appears it does have a ground.

So I have a new question, What would be the best driver to max out 2 of these? Starting to realize buying 4 separate drivers might be a hassle and I think I would rather have 2 board fixtures anyways. Thanks!

The 3Y version of the EGLS have an input earth but they are low voltage class 2 so i wouldn't be too bothered for our use.

ELG-100-36A-3y- 120w
HLG-120h-36A-140s

Meanwells are reliable, but if you stray too far from the hlg/elg lines efficiency take quite a hit.

Also worth noting ELG is cheaper and often as efficienct as HLG, but some of them have a lower output if used in the US with 110v input electricity.
