Is there a higher PPDF spread with 2 240 W lights (480 Watts) & red kits vs 1 square HLG 550 W light (480 Watts)?

Hello,

I am looking to purchase a (L301B/L301H) LED light for my 39"x39"x70" (3.25 ft x 3.25 ft x 5.83 ft) tent. The tent area is 10.5 sq ft. or 1 m^2. 30 watts * 10.56 sq ft = 316.88 W. I will use the light for the entirety of the grow cycle. Upon further consideration, I am narrowing my search to Kingbrite & Meijiu Lights on alibaba.com.

1) Would I achieve better quality/higher yield by increasing the PPFD towards the tent's sides if I installed 2 240 W lights (480 W total) with red kits vs one square 480 W light? Is it better to opt for 2 lights in this 10.5 sq ft tent

Seeing as my footprint is very small, I was also thinking of getting 1 240 W light and 1 125 Watt (375 W) compared to a square 320 watt light

I think you would find a greater uniformity in ppfd if you went with the separate heatsink versionhttps://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 5722zhJ2g6 . It should let you position the boards with the sides facing each other instead of the ends. Should help reduce hot/cold spots in that space.

Based on what Kingbrite recommends - your tent size is right between needing a 240W vs a 480W setup. Veg you would dim, but focussing on the flowering space each 120W can cover is a 2.5'x2.5' imprint. So it's a tough call for you.

Running 480w (4x120w) and spacing them out as best as possible - you would probably have to raise their hanging height and run them at less than 100%.

Not sure if you're the anal needs to be ideal type as I am but, there's some more reading you can do to make a decision. Here's a link to discussion on how much ppfd you need. https://www.rollitup.org/t/max-ppf-ppfd ... 0%C2%B0C).

you can make a determination from this how much ppfd you need, then work back from the ppfd charts on the kingbrite site to design the lighting setup. many routes you can go to try and get the right amount of ppfd, right spectrum evenly across the canopy. gl!
