Yes, I'm going to try to get it together later tgis evening. It's 6 am here lol. My tent is approximately the same size. I looked on cutter and those bridgelux strips seem to be gen 1. The calculator will work good then.

Thank you. This makes a lot more sense. I think I was confused by the fact that it has multiple channels. I managed to get my head around some calculations for other boards and follow the LED Gardener tutorials, but this Sol-Skin was confusing me! My room is 80cm*80cm, so I think the one board with 576 diodes would be perfect.

That being said, the Bridgelux strips still come out a bit cheaper, so I might end up doing that. I saw your build with a repurposed blurple. I might try something similar with mine if I don't just keep it for a smaller tent or a grow rack for something that doesn't need much light, like lettuce.

Which of the eb stripswere you thinking? 280mm or 560mm

I think I'd go with 10-12 of the 560mm strips. The next task will be trying to find suitable drivers domestically!

Nice. If you can get good heatsinks you can run them at about 75%. 10 of those strips run at 1A would give you about 227w, that makes 33-34 w. Per sq/ft. If you can't source good heatsinks, 12 run at 700mA is roughly 186w, around 28w PE sq/ft

Looking at the meanwell Australia website they don't seem to offer the hlg series drivers in constant current mode. Only constant voltage. They do offer the elg series in constant current. Finding one might be hard though.

I'll keep poking around. = )

I searched the meanwell Australia website and it had a list of suppliers. I found 2 websites offering the hlg series, and elg series. The calculator said an hlg-240 will run 10 strips at 75%. Now if you get the c1050 version, it's a constant current driver, and you have to wire in series. If you get the 24v version, it's a constant voltage driver, and you have to wire in parallel. Power supplies Australia seems to be the cheapest, but there is also places that don't have a website that you could maybe call or email to see what they have. You can see that here

Also here is a list of drivers I found. They all should be rated and stamped to run in Australia(I just found out you Australians have strict regulations.

Looking at the elg series spec, if you are plugging in to 100-180v it only runs about 75% max power. If you run 200v+ you get full power.

*edit*

Looks like it's true since ledg just liked it. =( oh well, still cheaper to run a stronger elg driver at 75% than the correct one in the hlg series. = D

I assume you're talking about mains power? If so, it's all 240v here, so that's not a problem at all.

Well, I ended up going with something else altogether.

8x 2' Cree 3000k LED Strips with 112 diodes each @ 48V, 1.25A max
AUD$14.16 each

1x ZPE PF-P250CC-C070-S-DM (250w, 700mA Constant Current Driver)
AUD$83.55

I can also source a 600mm*600mm aluminium sheet for around $20, which should be just enough heatsinking when running them at 700mA.

Total: ~$220

I'll be running them in series at 700mA each as suggested on the Cutter website. I ended up going with this because while the Bridgelux strips are cheaper, all of the Meanwell power supplies that I could have used were significantly more than the ZPE one. This comes out to ~35 watts/sq. ft by my calculations, so this should be perfect!

Nice. I guess you have to go with what's available for,the right price. You could run eb strips with those drivers, but you could only run about 10 strips with the 1050mA driver for about 227 watts. You should do a grow log to show us how the light compares.
