Except that at 90CRI the LM561C doesn't have S6 bin (see here: https://www.samsung.com/led/support/too ... alculator/)

Buying directly from Alibaba, like this guy did, the cost would be $7.5 (excl. shipping) per such a 96 diode strip with the more common 80CRI/S6.

I guess I got lightly fleeced, then. At least I got a 6500k spectrum light, I wasn't able to find strips of that color from digikey. The gals seem to like it so far!

I doubt this reseller even knows this: it's more likely he's repeating what the Alibaba factory told him. I'm tempted to write him a message and ask who he bought from, to be sure not to order anything from them.

Having said that, all these differences are relatively minor when looking at the bigger picture, and that's that LEDs are 30% more efficient than MH/HPS to begin with. Even with my original, very shitty Roleadro lights I was able to get some very nice results. Even it's not exactly what you were looking for, it's a great light and your plants will love it.

As long as they are Samsung diodes I wouldn't worry much. There are photos to understand if they are 561c or 561b+, should be a 10% difference from c to b+, still good lights!
Probably any pcb producer could make these. So, what's the price?

I've been through this thread a few times now - I'm talking to bright about ordering some of their 2' (22")48pc 561c strips with aluminum core. Has anyone gone with then yet? :geek:

I just bought some boards from Meijiu today. How would I go about collecting data to compare it against the quantum boards? I'm assuming I'd need a PAR or a lux meter and a multimeter.

imho par readings do matter if made the same way everytime.
Samsung calculator and a multimeter should be enough to identify what leds have been used, am I right?

That'd probably be where I start. I'd check the voltage of the board, then do the math to get a per-diode voltage, then compare to the different voltage bins of the LM561C. It's tough to say though because I'm sure there are many diodes that run at that same 2..6-2.9V each.
