hi everyone I'm Italian and I'm new to the forum I would like advice from you, I'm setting up a growroom of 10FTx6.5FT and I would have opted for 7 quantum board 480w samsung lm301b (1qb 480w = 4x288 diodes) tot max watt 3300, watt to which everything will travel between 1700w to 2400w (between 240w to 340w x single qb 480w and between 60w and 85w for a single 288 diodes) all at a height between 19 "and 22" with ppfd calculated by manufacturers not exceeding 1000ppfd to this height, I will lower them gradually when I begin to interfere co2 in the room.
so I ask you more experienced what do you think ??
being fully dimmable, I can increase the watt if required or reduce it, thus obtaining greater efficiency.
let me know what you think, the Italian community thanks you for your work. ^ _ ^

that sounds pretty nice. Got pictures of that setup?

hello, thanks for the interest. I have no image as I'm still waiting for the shipment as soon as I can post the images. Regarding the configuration described what do you think ??

yeah man. If I understand you have 7 setups of 4qb 288s, each of the 7 setups use 480w drivers.

7*480 = 3360Watt at 100%. in 65sq ft. 3360/65 = 51W/sq ft. That is more than optimal.
2400Watt at 65 sqft. 37W/sq ft. Optimal

Sounds like a solid plan. But I think you'll want to go past 2400, which you should be able to do.

exact friend thanks for answering my mind is to drive between 40/50 watts per square foot.
so this turned out to be the best configuration between price / efficiency of course about the samsung qb which in my opinion is the best on the market, without offending other friends here in this beautiful forum.
in the future I would like to add more qb remaining always on 40 / 50watt per square foot so every qb travels lower and lower for greater efficiency.
I come from cultivations with hps with this configuration I hope to reach at least the legendary GPW what do you say with this configuration should be feasible right ???
I say this because from what I learned for the forums and the stories of other farmers where they have reached the GPW with various configurations so I have been inspired by all of them to put on a super growroom.
I accept any opinions I really like to compare so thank you again for your time. ^ _ ^

This is approximately the way to go, except that depending on the efficiency of your luminaires, you may be getting more, or less photons at the same wattage... so it's only a rough guide.

HLG may have been the first to market with this style of board, but they definitely aren't offering the best price or efficiency. I'm offering my 400W luminaires at approximately $850 USD, and they come with 8 x 320 diode square boards running at 50W each, at an efficiency of approximately 2.85 uMol/J. That's one of the highest efficiencies on the market right now, from a much larger emitting area with better coverage. If you run a bunch of those, one PCB per square foot, that's a hard offering to beat.

I suggest you shop around before committing to HLG, there are a lot of new offerings around.

From what I've read, 2 gpw seems fairly achievable if you know what you're doing, and should probably be regarded as the new benchmark given that the new lights are at least twice as efficient as HPS.

Yeah, gml hit almost 1.5 gpw using all hlg 550's You should check out his last grow. He had less than a perfect grow. So 2 gpw is achievable with the right strain. Strain has a good bit to do with it though. Sealed rooms are nice if you can produce the right co2, control humidity, and temps.

Thanks for your answers.
@Futuregrow I do not know what system you are talking about but if you put a link I would always be grateful if you can.
about the GPW talk with this system I think it is not very difficult to achieve and overcome obviously knowing what is being done about it I bought the complete line of advanced nutrients ph perfect for high quality strains such as c99, chocolate mint og , amnesia, gorilla glue, and rosenthal and grapefruit. I would like to put 10 girls under each 480b qb in tot 70 girls in 2 gallon jars. as the first cycle to innagurate everything then from them I will select twenty mothers to continue with the future cycles.
I hope to post photos as soon as possible and share this adventure with you.

my 2 cent bro

can I ask you which LEDs you used and in what configuration? grow measurements, diode wattage settings, drivers, led height from the tops etc ..
I apologize for too many questions but I love studying and informing myself.
my respect for all of you.
