So, I see the kits on Alibaba, theoretically understand how they work.

QB connected to heatsink, powered by a driver right? I have no idea how to connect the pieces, but I will learn. My thing is I see on alibaba these "kits", and I thought it would be cheaper and more intuitive to build my own and just order the parts directly from manufacturers.

So here is my idea/shopping list for a 4x4 Space

4x 125W Samsung lm301b led 288 3000K

REALIZED - this is a 240W Driver, I need 2x or 1x 480, is there a 480w Driver you all suggest?


That's all that I have gathered, I need help with Hanging pieces, frame, and wiring. Any and all help will be appreciated.

I recommend genuine QBs made by HLG. I would steer clear of the cheap copies.

If your in the US I think you can get Atreum boards for closer to the price of the chinese boards... and they are HLG quality, I guess. Otherwise you might want to consider a strip build. You can get prices down pretty low depending on what you use.

The chinese stuff does work, I saw lots of threads on RIU... I would suggest looking at the offerings from sellers that other growers use. It's pretty dangerous to pick Chinese stuff by price alone. Your pretty sure to get hustled.

For a 4x4 you will need around 480w. You better check the delivery fee on them heatsinks, it will probably be quite a lot of money.
