Yea I would be doing 2x 320s. I think I can just run them harder with one model but I would prefer to add ~4 more strips for a total of 12 L06 strips per 320w. Choosing drivers and method of wiring is where I need help as that’s where I lack skillsunkle_psycho wrote: ↑Thu Nov 22, 2018 3:36 pmMeanwell has a 320w model, and 600w models, but perhaps someone smarter can chime in, some of the meanwell models produce a little more then the model number so perhaps theres a model that would get you up to 640
Best lights for a 8x8?

if ya follow the same strips as my other build.. it would be 13 1 A strips on a HLG-320h-24.. or 10 or the 1.4A strips on a HLG-320h-c1400
happy turkey day
edit.. oh yeah.. flat stock should work since running them around test current.. also series vrs parallel is preference now a days... we use to have to worry about thermal run away in parallel.. but the quality of components keeps going up also helps running them softer.. so if one does go, the rest don't get a huge boost in amperage..
Before I go further and build the other 5 identical to this how can I test if the lights are running properly and what’s up with the amps reading at the Wall?

the 320 can pull up to 3.5A at 115vac from the wall..( on the top of the driver it should say what it pulls from the wall at each vac level) 2.8a x 124vac = 347.2 watts so it's right there..
I've seen my 480h-54b go from 490w to 475w wide open from the wall on a kilometer.. my A type 120 I've seen wide open read 150w... the 80w a type can read 120w..
you should be good to go... as for testing.. if vegging try 24"+ at first.. if flowering try 18"+ at first to see how they react... if your not noticing over saturated leaves ( to much light makes mine look all droopy) drop it down some.. also try to keep the room around 80 degrees.. without the hps IR we need the rooms a tad warmer to keep the leaf surface temps higher..

Thanks. I still have to build 4 more (2 built now) and a 4x4 with qb96 elites for comparing the strips to. I still want to get some kinda accurate reading of the lumens and or lux. The phone apps I have tried are all over the place. What would you suggest to get a decent reading without breaking the bank?
