Help on my Vero 29 Build.

Discuss COBs or any other types of LEDs that don’t fit the other categories (Cree, Citizen, Migro, etc.).

So- I decided to build a 9 COB Ve[/url]ro 29 for my 4 x 4. Did all my calcs from the guides here on LEDG ordered supplies, but decided to go with the 4 x 4 frame from Rapid LED. Unfortunately, the set up goes with their pin heatsinks with a solid metal rim with screw holes to attach to their brackets.

I ordered different heatsinks with more heat absorption capacity, and they don’t have the solid rim with screw holes to attaché to the heat sink brackets. See pictures. Image

My thought was to drill, or get drilled a hole on each side of my heatsink to attaché to the bracket. I don’t know if that will be strong enough to hold the heat sing though since the RapidLED frame is flat not 90 degree so there is no bottom to help hold the heatsink. Image I hope that makes sense.

Any advice.

They can be held like that no problem. Needs drilling and then thread tapping for the correct screw size.
