Thats a nice little sleep initiator.
Now I'm realizing how few of these reds get added, I'm wondering why nobody makes their own?
Is there a place to buy far red strips...?

I do make my own. It’s extremely economical as well. I have a ton of these heatsinks laying around from eBay, which I pair with Luxeon Sunplus20, and rebel ES LEDs. Powered by meanwell LDD drivers.

Lovely! I was thinking that I might need some proper heatsinks to do it right. I could order short ones from alibaba.
Maybe I could use something similar to drive a couple of sunlike cobs at about 12w each? They have a max around 58w. Thinking of building a 2x2 tester light with the 100lm/w 97cri spectrum.
And of course still thinking about sleep initiators and 660 boost... Is it better to buy the diodes ready attached to that cradle or buy the diodes and cradles separately? The diodes cannot be attached straight to aluminum?

I love the idea of testing high CRI setups.
I also have bars like this setup with the various colors the Sunplus20 line has to offer. Just for random experiments to be honest.
I buy all of mine pre mounted on starboards. In my opinion that’s best and easiest. I don’t have the means to reflow solder.
I buy all mine from

DigiKey has a bunch of diodes on starboards from opulent but I find them quite spendy.

Yeah I was kinda wondering why the starboard mounting was so expensive, jacking the price up to over 5$ for less then a 1w diode.... Thats what had me thinking about running cobs softly as an alternative...
This guy steve has nice pricing though
