Hey everybody, I just bought a HLG 320 w XL QB kit and I wanted to extend the DC cord from the driver to the light so I can keep the driver outside the growroom. I only need about 5-10 feet extra. I can handle the wiring but needed a little help deciding which wire/cord is best for this setup. The driver is HLG-320H-C1750A. I was looking at a 16 awg solid copper wire (2 conductors) with a rating of 300v. Will this work? Is there a better option? Should I only be looking at the volts to decide which wire is compatible? Thanks for the help.

Your wire guage is heavy enough for 5 to 10 feet at that voltage

Your good.
I use 3 conductor wire for under ground well water pumps.
It’s water proof, flexible and can handle 30amps or more.
I use 18 gauge to boards then solder multiple wire to it so
I can raise and lower or tuck away wires without fear of breaking one and it’s easy to work with.
I use it for both ac and dc current.
There’s wire called wet noodle and it’s multiple strand but very flexible.

In Canada and most likely the US, the correct wire type is SOOW. this is a hard usage extension cord building type cable. Get it at your local electrical wholesaler, Home depot, etc.
