Any benefit to getting a light having IR or UV features for growing cannabis?

Hello,

I am looking to purchase a (L301B/L301H) LED light for my 39"x39"x70" (3.25 ft x 3.25 ft x 5.83 ft) tent. The tent area is 10.5 sq ft. or 1 m^2. 30 watts * 10.56 sq ft = 316.88 W. I will use the light for the entirety of the grow cycle. I am growing Cannabis. Upon further consideration, I am narrowing my search to Kingbrite & Meijiu Lights on alibaba.com.

I noticed that many of their lights have IR or UV features. For example:

I know bruce bugbee said Far red can cause stretchy plants, that grow vertically, if you have lettuce etc Far red can be good. for horizontal stretch, for more leaf.
UV has a lot of speculation, so i cant comment on that.

While his video about far-red doesn’t refer to cannabis very much, it’s worth paying attention to the content of what the spectrum does.

In the last 2 minutes of the video, you will notice that for a brief moment he points out the weird random flower on a tomato plant due to far-red influence *wink wink*.

He does directly talk about cannabis becoming stretchy under far red, which is undesired indoor. Speaks volumes imo ^^

Hmmm...
I believe u guys did a bit of misunderstanding here.
What I understood is that the stretching is going on when plants that do not like to be in the shade and getting almost only red spectrum.
So stretching is happening in shade( most red )
BUT!!!
Red in synergy with other wavelengths is what we are looking for?!?
Better yield, dry mass...

What ive seen from some sidebyside is that uv (just like blue) reduce stretch which balanced out stretch from far red. But the parameters were much more controlled with spectrum tweaked.

These aliboards with UV/IR : usually its around 400nm so just deep violet/near uv. IR is not ir but far red which can lead to stretch, especially iif the balance between 660:730 is higher 730. Some people been recommending 4:1 660/730 proportions with very little extra stretch.

I would think you could expect a bit better plant health, especially with regards to drinking and opening the stomata (those pesky "calmag" issues), more color and terps. Also far red is flower stimulating so maybe a bit faster development. But this would come at the cost of more watts ffor same intensity.

I havent seen any reliable grows or side by sides on the issue,, if anyone got something to compare to straight white id love to see it.
