yeah IDK what these guys are on about but stick with the A type drive for ease of dimming.... Its way easier to just turn a screw opposed to selecting the correct pot, and then verifying your pot actually works. I personally have purchased that pot from Rapid LED and it was garbage. Only allowed my driver to run from 0-50%, which according to TekNik is common occurrence when dealing with cheap pots.

I'm not sure why any one chooses the B type drivers unless they are mounting the driver in a difficult to reach place(again why do this in the first place?) or are using some form of automated light controller that requires dim to off compatibility from the driver.

Weird, must have been a defective one. I've used them and they worked exactly as expected. :?:

Hello guys!

Thanks again for all the replies folks! I have a pretty clear picture of what I'm going to set up. Thing is, none of the parts are available: And I've been looking everywhere; Digikey, Arrow and so on.

Restock at Digikey is expected around 11/11/19 for the AB-driver and 17/12/19 for the EBgen2 strips.. kind of a bummer since I wanted to get started ASAP, .

But i have ordered the parts at least, so now I play the waiting game, heh!

Aaanyways, i have a question regarding dimming: since I want to keep it simple, I'll go with the PWM-knob that Shimbob posted, even though shipping will be like 10 bucks lol. I guess it's not that bad :)

Im gonna take my chances, even though it seems like Labgrown got a defect one. They seem to have a good rating on Rapidled.com so as I said, I'll take my chances and cross my fingers

Mainly because I want to avoid soldering. I know my ex is one hell of a solderer, but as you guys can imagine i'd rather avoid asking her for help regarding a matter like this..

But, I have a question regarding the PWM-knob Shimbob posted: could I use it for both my rigs? I mean, are they compatible with both? I have two drivers i need dimmed:
One HLG-120H-C1050B,

And the one im going to build, with a HLG-600H-42AB.

I would guess that it is. Since the "pot isn't going inline with the lights", to quote ATP :). And i guess the PWM-dimmer isn't either, since its hooked up with the same wires. But hey, I am merely a newbie, so im asking questions before buying, there might be something im missing, so i just wanna make sure, heh! If they're compatible with both drivers then I'll grab two instead of one. ^_^

Best regards,
/Epsom :))

Yes it is compatible with both. Heck you can hook up both drivers to the same pot at the same time.

You can hook up 1-10V pots on a maximum of 30 meanwell drivers

Where does that limit of 30 drivers come from?

I had a supplier check if for me once, not sure why it couldn't take more, I think it had more to do with the wiring more than anything, too many wires connected to one little pot

Sooo, thought I'd update y'all on my progress :) the rig is finally built, been for a month or so. I had some help from my brother in law and a friend of his.

We built the frame out of aluminium L-bars, 20x20x1,5mm. Had some T-bars as well to reinforce the structure, turned out perfect.
Popriveted the whole thing, well almost atleast. Some strips, and the wagos were connected with that Chinese, double-sided tape. Got tired of all The drilling, lol!
The drilling, riveting and wiring truly was a b***h, but it worked out fine in the end ;).

I haven't measured the heat from the strips yet, haven't bothered Tbh. Im running these babies at about 715ma, and they're COOL. No worries from me,

Again, so happy with the outcome.
You were all super helpful, I owe you all my sincerest gratitude :) I just wish I could upvote all your answers more, you really made a difference!!

Not sure if I'm allowed to post pics on the forum, since they contain pics of herb too. Not sure about the rules and I don't wanna push my luck, but if it's ok, I'll post some :)

Bigups y'all!<3

Okay, as you see they're working spectacular! Well, except for 14 diodes on one strip, that never lit.. kinda weird since I thought they were soldered in series. Guess they're not,

Both my hydro-grown and my organically grown are absolutely LOVING these lights. Thinking about adding some reptile lights or something for the last weeks of flower though, to add some UVB and UVA! I initiated flowering a couple weeks ago, so far they haven't stretched too bad... but I got like 10 weeks to go! its gonna be a friggin' jungle in there!

Thanks TEKNIK, you've been a gem! :)
