Discuss COBs or any other types of LEDs that don’t fit the other categories (Cree, Citizen, Migro, etc.).

I had all the parts laying around so I thought wth. Unfortunately this Chinese 50w cob gets too hot. Next plan is to put in a Cree cob of sorts. Also I couldn't find a good way to ground it, so back to the drawing board.

These work very well for cheap cobs; especially the weird rectangular form factor cobs that come out of china.

I seen some par readings on those large rectangle cobs, they seems to do alright if not driven hard.

Some more research on the "mains" cob I have and it appears to have temperature limiting. No issues yet (close eye on it).

Those large rectangular COBs are usually made by crappy companies in China. Stick to the major brands for COBs when possible.
