The TRP (Thomas Research Products) LED drivers are comparable to Mean Wells, the lower wattage drivers have similar percentage efficiency, 88% and are used by Hubbell...
The Mean Wells are more readily available and at higher Wattages are more efficient and cost effective. Plus the -AB Suffix Drivers can be current adjusted down to approximately 50% with minor loss of efficiency with a separate Dimming function...
I currently have Mean Well XLG-240-H-AB Drivers in tests in that topic (post # 6)...
So your not using those drivers now then ? what was wrong with them ? or did you swap them just for efficiency ?
Thanks Stu
There is nothing wrong with the TRP 75 Watt Drivers...
I purchased a “Bulk” quantity (for the discount) and plan to use them for 18 x 48 wire shelves (4 shelf Unit, one 75 Watt driver per shelf ) and with Bridgelux Gen2 560mm Strips...
The Fixture as built (8 Vesta strips) works better with the XLG-240-H-AB current adjusted down to 200 Watts (plus 20 for efficiency loss)... Both the MW driver (Tc Temperature) and the Bridgelux Vesta strips operate cooler at this reduced current (Soft)...
so they can be dimmed and used at correct voltage ? they are £30 -£40 cheaper than the meanwells but discontinued models and in stock
The 75 Watt TRP Drivers can only be Dimmed, there is no manual current adjustment... Maximum Current will be “Automatically Adjusted” by the Voltage of the Strips, Amperage is limited to 3 Amps...
