Hi, i need to build a 6 bridgelux strips 3500k 80cri fixtures, 119cm, for my 2*4 bloom box.
I'm gonna add some 660. My question is, could a Hlg 320 1050a drive the strips in series? I don't care about the high voltage, i'm gonna take precautions. I just would to know if the strips will be ok in this set up. I'm no electrician and i didn't understand the maxiumum capacity etc etc. Thanks!

A better solution IMO is an HLG-320H-42AB (42 Vdc) Parallel Wired with eight (8) 1190 mm strips at 952 mA (40 Watts) each.

Hi! Thanks for the resume! Many thanks! So with my 660 cree leds (about 30 w with separate 700ma driver) i'm reaching around 675 ppfd maybe..it's my standard with cob and quantum boards (calculated with Migro's videos). Very cheap build and it's enough for me. Thanks again.

It was my original "design" but 1050ma is not too much for Cree xp e photo red? I have some "light" driver to run them @700ma. The original idea was 4 strips 3500k 80cri and 3 3000 90cri, with just 15w of 660, but i can't find the 90 cri (future electronics has 6 weeks of waiting so i changed my mind and decide to put more 660 in my hypothesis). Like i was saying in the post about the high output gen 3 stripes, i'll try to get some information about this new fixtures to clear my mind. I think i'm gonna go with 7 (the driver have space) if the new stripes are not coming soon. Cree XPE 660nm are not all that efficient especially when running at high current. Its hardly worth using them over the bridgelux CRI90 for the extra cost and inconvenience. Cree XPG3 is much better but alot more expensive.
You could make 660nm Buddies work if you ran 2 strings in parallel at 1050mA, cost is up there too but at least the efficiency is there.
If you can wait for CRI90 3500K strips then that would be the cheapest way and easiest way to get the spectrum you want.
Another alternative is to mix half 4000K CRI90 with half 3000K CRI90 for 3500K CRI90.
Alot of options around.

Just one question about Cree xpg3, if i don't get the 90 cri strips..how many watts aproximately in the 7 strips 1050ma fixture? It depends on how many you want to run. You could do upto 20% of your total power in 660nm. Its more complicated to set it up though and alot more expensive. I would suggest to parallel 660nm to keep the current lower at about 500mA and if you use 7 strips of bridgelux and 14 Cree XPG3 leds then your foward voltage per strip would be at about 44V or 310V total.
Getting good spread would be difficult with additional 660nm because you are using 4ft strips also.
Im not going to do the math now cause it's late but you maybe better off dropping to a 240W driver and adding in the 660nm on a seperate driver.
Not trying to sell you Buddies but they are so much easier and spread so much better for this sort of application than running small strips of XPG3 leds.
Efficiency drops a bit with Buddies in comparison to using XPG3 Crees but the spread and blending is alot better.
