I'm going to be building a small build using 6 of the 280mm EB Gen2 strips. I want to be able to run them all at 100% if needed but will likely be running them at 75% of rated just for efficiency.

I found 2 power supplies:
HLG-120H-36B
HLG-120H-C700B

One is a constant current and one a mixed. Is there a benefit to going one over the other? I was thinking about running them in series with dimming via a potentiometer just to protect them in case one fails, would parallel be a better option?

I'm going to mount them on aluminum strips mounted under a piece of wood.

So after some more research I've decided to go with constant current for safety, I don't have to worry about the higher voltage. Just wondering if anyone has thoughts on the HLG-120H-C700B being suitable for this with a potentiometer for dimming?

Constant current will be the one with higher voltage. If you want low voltage, you’ll want a parallel C.V. build.

Thanks, I wanted to go with CC to ensure the LEDs are protected if one goes out as I'll be running them close to max current. Since the Voltage of the strips is 20V times six strips this would be 120V, is this considered dangerous?

Yes and no. Yes in that 120V is enough to give you a good shock or worse, but it’s also the same voltage as you’ll find in electrical outlets in North America and is relatively low compared to some LED builds.
