Hi.
I have watched the new youtube video from LEDG (btw, very good video) about Meanwell hlg cv driver and i have some questions.

Pros and cons for the metods of dimming?
In the video LEDG says adjusting the vo to dim(around 22:00), but i have seen another way to dim by adjusting the Io.
See pic.

Is there any difference or is the one as good as the other?

I’ve given this a great deal of thought in recent months and I think leaving the current is the safer way to do it. Either way will get the job done.

I wish I could annotate old videos to reflect new info.

One thing i noticed.
Now you can dim down more than just to 50% when using to vo to adjust.

Yup, by using the VO you can reduce it further.

Hey sorry for hijacking but I have a quesrion regarding to adjustments.

I just tried to dim my Hlg-120h-24a and when I play with the Vo Adj nothing happens to lights(on minimum io or maximum io) but when I play with the Io button the light gets dimmed.

So the Vo doesnt do anything regards to output power of the strips ? So whats the point of it ? Will watch the video when I have a chance.

You’re using Bridgelux Gen 2, correct? That would likely be due to the fact that you’ve got them running on a 24V driver when they’re intended to be run closer to 20V. When you lower your VO, they’re still pulling all the driver current since they’re current-hungry even at the min. voltage of your driver so lowering VO does nothing. In your case, IO will work.
