I get it now. Wiring in parallel would split the current correct. So each half strip would run around 600 Ma.

Since you got the 2 footers shouldn’t you be able to run each half strip at 1050 mA safely? Or is the max 2000 mA for the whole strip and has to be split between the two sides? So about 500 mA per side

they are rated 1A for each color temp. row.
so 1 strip is rated for 2A.
max is 4A (but that sounds like they would melt).
with my 3A CC driver i would give each CCT row 3/5 Amps, which is only 60%.

i haven't yet ordered any CV driver, but having an eye on a HLG -185-24A for the future. but these TRP drivers are just too cheap to ignore.

What is a TRP driver?
Also what price are you usually paying for a driver?
i try personally to pay around 0.3-0.5eu /w (considering 22% taxes from my country)

they are an American company. but see what you can do.
the price comes down to less than 0.15€ per watt. and considering their dimmability with a 50Kohm potentiometer and decent efficiency, great value for sure.

Concerning the vestas: i wonder if it's possible
to use a "lux to PAR conversion factor". because i only have a lux meter and would like to know how many PPFD i approximately have to adjust lamp distance, but haven't found any conversion values for LED strips. is it the same as the lm to photon conversion factor?

For vesta 2700+5000k both running same current:
Lux to PFD : 0.0172
Lux to YPFD : 0.0144
Lux to PPFD : 0.0162

Keep in mind that these numbers are usefull only if your luxmeter is accurate enough. Some cheap luxmeters need correction factors to get a real measure.
If you tell me what model you got i can try to find the response curve and calculate the correction factor fo the vesta spectrum.

it's over 10 years old.
i don't know about the quality, probably low. but then again i don't need super accurate measurements.
