how can you be sure these white leds are made from Samsung?chancewokc wrote: โFri May 11, 2018 5:48 pmThis is the first Forum I have ever been involved in so I don't know how all this works. But that wiring diagram looks pretty easy to follow. I just don't know if the LED chips that are on the board other than the Samsungs are worth it all I know is everybody wants Samsung boards now.

I can't but everyone here is always out when I can afford to buy quantum boards. So I feel like Alibaba is my only option.
Naah... A DIY strip is an option toochancewokc wrote: โFri May 11, 2018 11:27 pmI can't but everyone here is always out when I can afford to buy quantum boards. So I feel like Alibaba is my only option.
For 150$ of strips + driver, u can do perfect lightning for an 4x4...

When I had a look at QB prices on alibaba, I felt they were only about 20-30% cheaper then f-series at best... Comparing price per diode. I was looking at 25pc of f-series on digikey.
For me the smaller form factor is already a benefit, and knowing exactly what you got has to be worth something too.
Finally I changed to vesta which was way cheaper then the f-series, I doubt alibaba QB's can beat their price at all.

9 x 56cm Vesta's @ nominal, 50w each = 450w = about 72euros.

The choice is pretty easy if you know what you are after... Par per $, lumen per watt, or diodes per m2... What are you trying to optimize? Any special needs like high CRI or intensity would make the decision even more simple.

At the moment I am trying to get as much light and penetration for as little $ as possible
This is a reason I went with Bridgelux eb2 instead of alibaba boardsunkle_psycho wrote: โSat May 12, 2018 2:55 pm
