Hi all,
I have 3x3 tent and an HLG135Wv2 kit that only flowers 2x2. I am concidering an upgrade but I am not sure what the best choice is.

1) I can get a second HLG135W kit which would be the simplest solution and 2 of those would be more than enough for a 3x3.
2) I can upgrade my kit to a 260W if I get a new heatsink, driver and extra board. I Did not do the math but I suppose it wouldn't make sence cost-wise.
3) Add some of those new HLG red flowering led strips or a (100W?)cob to increase the light footprint/coverage.

Looking forward to listening to your opinions

I guess in your place i'd either think about another HLG, or strips to get the light spread as evenly as possible.

In my case I like to think of drivers in terms of how much power I'd like to have, and strips/ QB's simply as a device for even coverage. The strips I'm using cost 4.5e for 1 foot, and 8.5e for two, so adding a little more isn't a big deal.

4) 4 cobs, one per corner. Citizen 1212s are cheap and efficient at 35w per cob, luminus cxm22 too (cobkits.com)
5) 2x 2ft Samsung strips

Hlg has a 100w board now it's on the last page they have a heatsink thats like a cob...but if I was you I'd get another 135w and call it a day it's always better to have more power and turn it down than not enough like you have now

greetings!

I'm one of the QB nuts on here... you pretty much said it all in option 1... buying another 135w kit is simplest way... or buy a 260w kit and have a extra light as a back up...or another little veg spot under the 135 kit..

another idea if you really want to have some add some red.. RapidLED has 100w growmau5 puck light. It's almost same price as another 135w QB kit...but has the added red. and comes assembled.

you could DIY with gm5 pucks or QB 96's for added red.. but it would cost more because you would want to get two of each for a better spread.
