Hi guys
I have some test results on the new Cutter PR strips
These strips use the new Cree 2835 high efficiency chips along with Cree XPG3 660nm
I also got Cutter to make the same strips using my 660nm LT LEDs for comparison.
The Cree XPG3 leds are quite an expensive chip, one of the reasons for these tests was to see if it was viable to use the top of the top brand leds or if people would like to save a couple of dollars per strip for very similar results.

The test at 500mA shows an inconsistent result to the other tests. The LT leds beat the Cree leds at that current. I am going to put that down to operator error which is me. I was busy packing orders and allowed the LT strip to cool down a bit more than I normally would.

I'm pretty abusive to the strips when I test them and try to over heat them so my test results will be under instead of over. The LT 500mA test seemed to get a bit of an advantage on that one test.

The Cree leds did perform better but only slightly better.
One thing that does not show up very obvious in my tests is how the blending works with the reds to the white on the strip. The LT 660nm chips have a much wider beam angle and therefore are better suited for blending with whites. I could actually see the difference when I was doing the tests but its hard to put that on paper.
Very efficient strip depending on how low you drive them.
The aluminum PCB is nice and wide also, if kept at about 25W per strip heatsink is not required. This makes it handy for strip builds as it also keeps the weight and costs down.

Hi mate, good to see you here.
Mark mentioned something about a new board a while ago for tunable systems. Not sure whats going on there.
Mark is on here now and then and may have an update for you.
